As part of the Lithuanian Season in France, the association Art en Partage, in partnership with the Lithuanian collective ‘Fluxus Labas!’, is bringing together Lithuanian artists whose work focuses on public space, participatory dynamics and environmental issues. This travelling festival encourages artists to collaborate with French partner associations and institutions to experiment, create and interact together.
The festival is taking place in Seine-Saint-Denis, on the banks and banks of the Ourcq canal, in partnership with the Magasins Généraux, the Wonder, the Fiminco Foundation, the Coloc' de l'Ourcq and the Parc départemental de la Bergère. The artists, in dialogue with the local area, are presenting works, installations and performances in keeping with the season's theme: ‘Global Neighbourhood’. This project invites us to reflect on the current climate challenges, to rethink our common future in Europe and to consider nature as an essential pillar of our resilience and survival.
We invite you to discover a range of artistic interventions, in a participative and collaborative dynamic.

Monika Žaltė
Monika Žaltė (born 1975) is an internationally renowned artist, teacher at the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, and exhibition curator. A recognised specialist in computerised jacquard weaving, she creatively breaks down the boundaries of textile art, using a variety of materials, means of expression and media (photography, sound). Monika Žaltė's work is characterised by a metaphysical dimension, focusing on fundamental questions of existence, social themes, the search for female identity and a relationship with the cultural, historical and mythological past of fabric. During the season, Monika will be presenting a number of participatory installations on the banks of the canal, entitled All Rivers Flows to the SEA, connecting the river and textiles.

Greta Kardi
Greta Kardi-Kardišiūtė is a Lithuanian artist whose creations combine textile art and land art, deeply connected to nature and the exploration of materials. A graduate of the Kaunas Faculty of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, she has developed a unique practice based on the use of wooden sticks that she integrates into her works to "embroider" the ground, transforming the landscape into a living canvas. During the festival, the artist takes over the Bergère Park to create her work "CHANCE - Honeymoon", inspired by the Šančiai district, where she grew up, whose name evokes the French word chance. Her creation, marked by its ephemeral nature, will evolve and degrade over time.

Viktorija Antonovic
Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 1988, Viktorija Antonovic is an artist whose work embodies a rich interaction between diverse cultures: Lithuanian by origin and French by adoption for the last fifteen years. She graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2015. Viktorija explores a wide range of media, from photography to drawing, video to installation, and singing. She is mainly interested in themes relating to the environment, climate change and the impact of human activity on the landscape, while avoiding direct representations of human beings. Her research at Wonder will follow on from her first solo exhibition, *Mesurer la chaleur*, presented at the Institut français de Lituanie in 2023.

Neda Rimaitė
Neda Rimaitė, artist and curator, currently works and lives in Vilnius, Lithuania. Neda graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Sculpture at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. In her practice, Neda explores different materials and looks for tensions between art and design. Her work is influenced by elements and combinations of fiction, science fiction and theory. She takes a fictional look at her practice while exploring the hidden layers of everyday life.
At Wonder, Neda wants to explore Lithuanian craft traditions in greater depth, particularly folk design and production. By exploring these aspects, she wants to think about how these elements might inspire contemporary practices, particularly in a context where nature and the countryside are becoming refuges in the face of urban and environmental crises.

Magasins Généraux, Pantin
Dance performance ONE, an urban utopia by Arunas Mozūraitis and Clara Giambino
Based in Kaunas and active on the European artistic scene, Lithuanian street dancer Arunas Mozūraitis and French contemporary dancer Clara Giambino have created their performance ‘ONE’. This singular and powerful duo brought their worlds together, transcending the boundaries of their styles to explore the links between tradition and modernity, nature and urbanity.
To coincide with the Grande Ville exhibition and the Lithuanian Season in France, they took over the outdoor spaces of the Magasins Généraux to transform this urban environment into a moment of breath and connection. Their performance offers a poetic and utopian vision of the city, where nature and human structures intertwine to create a space of respite from the urban bustle.
Set against the imposing architecture of the Magasins Généraux and the constant flow of water, ONE became a living representation of the symbiosis between nature and urbanity, where every movement seemed to capture the breath of the city itself.
Dance workshops
Arunas Mozūraitis and Clara Giambino led two workshops open to all levels, inviting participants to explore movement through improvisation exercises and learning the repertoire for their ONE performance. These workshops created a space for collective research, enabling each participant to reconnect with themselves while forging links with others, in resonance with the themes of the Grande Ville exhibition. In this way, the workshop is an extension of the exhibition, using movement to question our ways of moving around the city, both individually and collectively.
Magasins Généraux, Pantin
Performance “Adventitious Trajectories” and participatory artistic installation by Ilona Mikneviciute
As part of the Lithuanian Season in France, Ilona Mikneviciute is presenting a performance at the Magasins Généraux that takes a poetic and committed look at the relationship between city and nature. Drawing on her childhood memories of the natural landscapes of Lithuania and observing the rapid urbanisation of the Paris region, she has created a work that questions our relationship with nature in an increasingly urbanised world. Ilona Mikneviciute's performance explores the way in which nature can become part of the urban fabric, not as an opposing element but as a living and necessary force. Through an ephemeral, participatory installation, she seeks to reconsider the city as a space where nature and architecture coexist, overlap and mutually enrich each other.
For this performance, Ilona Mikneviciute proposes to take over the forecourt of the Place de la Pointe in Pantin, as well as the outdoor space of the ‘Grande Ville’ exhibition, with a simple but symbolically powerful action: unrolling a roll of grass on the concrete slab. This gesture, both poetic and participatory, invites passers-by to take part in the creation of an ephemeral vegetation grid at the heart of the urban space.

Guided tour of the GRANDE VILLE exhibition
To round off the two performances, a guided tour of the ‘Grande Ville’ exhibition was offered by the Magasins Généraux. Through the eyes of artists from all over the world and of all generations, ‘Grande Ville’ seeks to sketch out new utopias and convivialities, in order to make urban spaces more inclusive, ecological and desirable, while reconsidering the ways in which we live together in them on a daily basis. Bringing together a variety of forms of expression, from painting and architecture to sculpture, photography, video, drawing, textiles and sound, the exhibition invites visitors to immerse themselves in the artists' urban reveries and reflections. Sometimes with humour or sensuality, always with poetry and generosity, the works brought together sketch out a multitude of landscapes that invite us to imagine other ways of understanding and shaping our cities.

Fondation Fiminco, Romainville
Performance by Viktorija Antonovic
On the occasion of OPEN STUDIOS Day #1, and in conjunction with the exhibition ‘Les Ambassadeurs’ presented at the Fondation.interactive performance ‘Retenir l'eau’ by Viktorija Antonovic at the Fondation Fiminco as part of the Croisements Fertiles festival.
Viktorija Antonovic is in residence at the Wonder as part of the Lithuanian Season, the country she left more than 12 years ago. Her performance explores the obsolescence of our living spaces and our modes of consumption. Her performance, entitled ‘Retenir l'eau’, symbolises the dilemma between control and ephemerality, exposing the deep tensions in our relationship with vital elements.
‘In a darkened room, a large pool of water is illuminated by a spotlight, while cushions are placed around it to welcome visitors. The sound of the bendir begins to resonate. Behind the pool, the choir, motionless, stands a silent forest. In the centre, the performer, seated on a cushion, gathers the water in her hands, regarding it as a treasure both precious and fragile. She tries to hold it back while singing a traditional Lithuanian song. This ritual is repeated, cycle after cycle, as each last drop eventually escapes. The audience is invited to join her in trying to hold back the water and/or sing together, in a shared surge towards infinity.’
With the participation of : Emilija Pundziūté, Inga Vareninaité Kvietelaitiené and Claire Herboux.
Coloc’ de l’Ourcq, Bobigny
Participatory art installation and workshop with Monika Žaltė
As part of the Lithuanian Season in France, Lithuanian artist Monika Žaltė installed her work ‘All Rivers Flow to the SEA’ in the Parc de la Bergère in Bobigny.
Monika Žaltė presented a series of participatory installations along the Ourcq canal. Renowned for her innovative approach to computerised jacquard weaving, she goes beyond the traditional boundaries of textile art by integrating media such as photography and sound to explore metaphysical, social and identity-related themes. With All Rivers Flow to the SEA, Monika invites the public to reflect on the profound relationship between rivers and textiles. Her installation, imbued with elements evocative of Lithuania, such as the Baltic Sea and the River Néris in Kaunas, blends weaving and plants to create a poetic work. She proposes an imaginary journey linking the Ourcq Canal to Kaunas, symbolising a universal connection between places and people.
