colors for Gagarin
creation of a natural, participatory and festive artistic installation with the artist Line Bourdoiseau
In the Gagarine district of Romainville, in the midst of urban transformation, we proposed a participatory artistic project in partnership with the future social center and the landlord Seine-Saint-Denis Habitat.
Alongside artist Line Bourdoiseau, residents were invited to co-create a temporary, festive, and ecological installation made from natural and recycled materials. The sculptures were created during weekly workshops over several months, open to all generations, in a creative and collective approach.
These regular meetings, organized at the foot of the building starting in March 2025, aim to reconnect old and new residents, to re-enchant everyday spaces and to positively support the neighborhood's changes. The final work was revealed in May 2025, during a festive moment on the occasion of the open days of the artists' studios.

aire de convivialité
participatory art workshops
designed and built with local residents
from socially challenged neighbourhoods
For two years running, the ‘aire de convivialité’ scheme has been encouraging experimentation and local ownership. Working with residents of Romainville's priority neighbourhoods, and in partnership with the local social centres, these open-air discussions give a boost to the neighbourhood by encouraging conviviality and a desire to get together, take a break and meet each other.
At the end of the discussions and reflections initiated by the artistic workshops, the participants are invited to design and build innovative street furniture during a participative worksite.
The street furniture designed (the seats, the mobile kitchen, etc.) is then deployed in the places where the residents live, so that they can reinvest the public space with their creations.

îlots de fraîcheur in Londeau
a participatory art project initiated by Ilona Mikneviciute with residents of the Londeau neighbourhood in Noisy-Le-Sec
The project, which is currently underway, aims to create an island of freshness in the heart of the Londeau district by drawing on the experience of local residents. Their active contribution, through artistic workshops on the themes of nature and plants, aims to create a green space in the district.

les coteaux
participative worksite in the
in the Coteaux district of Mulhouse -
2022
This project, initiated by Mulhouse c'est Vous, follows the installation of 3 electric and connected planchas in Mulhouse. One of them is in the Coteaux district. The Coteaux district of Mulhouse was built between 1961 and 1975, along the lines of a large housing estate. A call for projects was launched by the Agence de la participation citoyenne to design, create and install a convivial space around these planchas.
As part of this call for projects, the Art en Partage association organised participatory workshops for residents, with citizen involvement at the heart of the project.
This experimental urban development scheme gave residents a chance to express themselves and play a full part in creating the future convivial space, so that they could take greater ownership of the structures that had been built.

jardins suspendus
project initiated by Ilona Mikneviciute and
Amalia Ramanankirahina - 2021
The aim of this project is to explore the links between art, nature and plants. Since Yves Klein's attempts to capture the ‘states-moments of nature’, the Land Art movement and Arte Povera, plants have become a medium for creative experimentation. This opened up a whole new field of experimentation for artists, who gradually appropriated nature to create new works. Today, in the same way as they use pencil and paint, visual artists use plants in their work: grass, flowers and trees have become veritable materials in recent years.

sekretaï
artistic proposal by Ilona Mikneviciute supported by the association Art en Partage • 2020
This is an artistic and cultural project focusing on the themes of memory, identity and discovering others, involving children and families from Trois Communes, Cachin, Bas-Pays and Gagarine, as well as a CM2 class from the Fraternité school and NAP children from the Fraternité and Marcel Cachin schools in Romainville.
The project was inspired by Sekretaï, a popular game in the countries of the former Soviet Union. The childhood of all the young people of the time was marked by the practice of this widespread game. This ritual activity involved hiding small ‘treasures’. The child would dig a hole in the ground, lay out the objects, protect them with a piece of broken glass and then cover the hiding place with earth.

soudez - soudés
project • 2017
For several months, the association Art en Partage - in partnership with the Espace Mandela and with the participation of FlowUp - worked with a group of young people to design and produce a large-scale artistic project.
The aim was to
- to create a sculpture
- to be installed in the Jacques Duclos district of Romainville.
More than 30 young people aged between 12 and 25 were involved in the project.
Photo workshops led by Vivian Daval were also held to begin imagining the places where the sculpture could be installed. The aim was also to get to grips with the neighbourhood and take a different look at it through photography.
Ilona Mikneviciute then built and welded the sculpture with the help of the young people.
It was installed, again with the help of young people, and inaugurated on 5 July 2017.
